At our last meeting there was a discussion about the readings for 14th September. When the group last encountered the 24th Sunday in ordinary time (C), John Byrne chose John 3:13-17 as the reading which is the reading for “The Exaltation of the Holy Cross”. This is also the reading on the website of the Association of Catholic Priests for this day. In the Sunday missal, approved for use in these islands, the text for the 24th Sunday is Luke 15:1-32. On this occasion it makes sense to follow John Byrne’s choice but you may hear a different reading in your church.
